Puffins

Atlantic Puffin (Fratercula arctica) are a uniquely charismatic seabird. These images were created on the Farne Islands in Northumberland and at RSPB Bempton Cliffs in Yorkshire. Puffins winter way out to sea and then return to land in the summer to breed.

"Heading Home" - This Atlantic Puffin makes its way back to its burrow on Inner Farne with a successful catch of Sand Eel. The puffins brave the elements, diving down and bring back a beak full of fish for their young ‘Puffling,’ only to have to weave and dodge the black headed gulls which lurk close to home waiting to steal their catch. - June 2017, The Farne Islands, Northumberland, England
